Unfortunately, this era came to an end when an inexperienced manager, formerly associated with The Doctor's Tonic in Welwyn Garden City, took the reins. Her arrival marked a significant shift in the pub's direction, leading to a series of decisions that left patrons questioning the future of their beloved venue. Altering the Musical Tradition: One of the most significant departures from the pub's successful formula was the abrupt cancellation of longstanding music gigs and the introduction of a new musical direction, driven solely by the personal taste of the new manager. My band have played two gigs here. This is one of the best music venues in Hertfordshire. The pub manager and staff know their stuff and a really helpful and friendly, from set-up to take down. The place is always busy on a Saturday night you can expecta great night of music either watching, or a great crowd if you're playing. If you like live music, check it out.
